Sharks are often portrayed as mindless killing machines. The truth is that they are complicated graceful animals with a myriad different forms and behaviors. The Hammerhead, Thresher, Blue and Leopard sharks seen in “Migration” are all life size sculptural representations of sharks seen in California waters and capture the grace and elegance of these beautiful species. This temporary installation is meant to educate viewers and inspire an appreciation of sharks
These sharks are all fabricated out of stainless steel and vary in size from four to twelve feet long. The perforated steel bodies and gill cutouts provide a bioluminescent glow from the internal lights.
