DAWN PATROL

After watching pelicans surf waves for years while lifeguarding in Laguna Beach, Dawn Patrol was an opportunity to capture the magic of this occurrence. This commissioned public art piece features redwood-bodied pelicans with soaring bronze wings stretching to catch updrafts to surf along a shimmering heat colored titanium wave.
