Blue morpho butterflies seem to emit their own light as they flutter and glide through the jungle. I wanted to capture the feeling I got when I first saw them. This sculpture features a swarm of these beautiful blue spirits made with heat-colored titanium wings with hues that change with the sunlight, spiraling gracefully around a palm tree at the entrance to the Santa Ana Zoo in California.
